God-incidence

Don't you just love it when you get a wonderful coincidence?  I wanted to make a friend a special card with just the right scripture for her and thought of this one but wasn't 100% sure:

Thou dost keep him in perfect peace, whose mind
is stayed on Thee, because he trusts in Thee.
Is 26: 3

When I looked on Word Art Wednesday for their scripture word art for the week I was amazed and wonderfully blessed to see that it was this very one.  What an amazing coincidence, or rather, God-incidence!  I can be sure now that this is the right verse for my friend.

I've made 2 cards with this word art.  For this one I've used a new die from Memory Box which I got at the big Hobbycraft show and couldn't wait to use.

I love this verse in the Amplified version of the bible so I did another card using both versions.  The Amplified version is on a tab tucked behind the word art:

I love the Amplified version because it really brings out the sense of perfect and constant peace when we truly set our minds and hearts and hopes on God.

May you find that perfect and constant peace that comes only from setting our minds and hearts on God.

Love Heart

I was asked to make a birthday card for a friend at church and since it will be signed by lots of people it had to be a big card.  I decided to do a large patchwork heart and include the well known Love is patient, etc from 1 Cor 13.  This is not just because the theme at the moment everywhere is hearts and love (Feb 14 coming up soon!) but because my friend has been really lovely and supportive to me.

I love doing paper patchwork and sewing on my cards.  Sewing gives such a lovely soft effect:

The font is Cupid de Locke which I chose obviously because of all the little hearts.

I added some flowers with button centres:

I really enjoyed making this card and I hope it will bless her.

Heart flowers

We had great fun today at Scrap and Yap Papercraft, a monthly craft group which I run with my friend, Sarah.  This month's theme was hearts and it was great seeing everyone's creations.  Here is a card I made using hearts and twine for the stems.  We had to use twine to take part in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  I love twine, so that was easy :)

I was inspired to make this card when I saw a stamped hearts on stems card by Becky F also on this Wednesday challenge see it here.

I just love using hearts and have loved this month's theme at our craft group.  Of course hearts symbolise love and love is the most important thing of all - I guess that has something to do with it!

Big Hearts

Here are two more cards I made for our craft group, Scrap and Yap Papercraft, meeting tomorrow :)
We are focusing on hearts this month and this time I've used one large heart:

This is a lovely scripture and most appropriate for a heart!

This one is large patchwork heart:

I love to sew on my cards, the stitching gives them such a lovely soft effect.  I always sew by hand since I only have a tiny mini sewing machine which only does straight stitch and I like zig zag best:

I love using hearts and am looking forward to seeing what our members create tomorrow!

More Hearts

Here is another card I made to take to the next Scrap and Yap, a craft group I help run - we will be focusing on hearts in the next session which is next Friday.

I love hearts!  You can do so much with them.  Last week I made a card with flowers made out of heart shaped petals (see it here) .  This week I've used a heart punch:

I really like how this card has turned out.  Its different to how I planned it - how often does that happen?!!  I was going to add a sentiment in one of the squares instead of a heart but then decided I wanted to include this verse which I love:

Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Cor 13:7

Love definitely puts up with a lot!  Thank goodness for love!

Hearts

We've decided to focus on hearts for our next session of Scrap and Yap Papercraft, a monthly craft group my friend Sarah and I run in Northampton.  The next session is on January 31st and we take a few of our own makes to get our members started off so I thought I would make a card using hearts.

I love using hearts to make heart shaped petals for flowers so this is what I did (not a very good photo today!) :

The tag has the scripture word art from this week's challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  This is a beautiful scripture from Psalm 146: when we set our trust in God, when we rely on Him to help us and we set our hope in Him we are right with Him and happy or blessed.
