Week 2 for Take Me Deeper, a weekly devotional at His Kingdom Come, is on Transform Vulnerably. What really spoke to me this week is how we all build up walls to protect ourselves and to go deeper with God and with one another we need to tear those walls down.
Here is my journal page:
The backround was sponged with distress inkpads and sprinkled with water. I rubbed a baby wipe through polka dot and circle stencils to create a bit more interest in the backround. The brick stencil was perfect for this page, what better way to illustrate tearing down a wall!
I also found a couple of perfect songs in an old song book I found in a second hand Christian bookshop and they are in the backround peeping out from behind the wall:
I had to include a texture pasted heart too:
Susan, I love your textures again :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous spread, Susan, and the music ties it together so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteLove your spread Susan! Great textures and love that you found that old hymnal book to use! I really like how you are voicing your vulnerabilities and your acknowledgment that the walls need to come down for growth in the Lord! It's in those places that God can do His best ministering to us! I love it! Blessings to you Susan! :)
ReplyDeleteA powerful journal spread, Susan! I like the visual impact of the wall coming down.
ReplyDeleteWhat a powerful, awesome spread Susan! Awesome work on this.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love the image of the brick on the edges of the paper and the heart "pushing it's way" through the wall. I cannot wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteVery powerful Susan!
ReplyDeleteWow!! This is fabulous, Susan!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your art pages and the wonderful posts with them ! The broken down wall is a very powerful image on your page and that lovely heart growing out ! There's so much more light when the walls are down!
